Jetour, a Chinese automaker, has unveiled an innovative luxury SUV that can navigate water and float, setting a new benchmark for the automotive industry.
While several companies have introduced vehicles capable of wading through shallow streams in recent years, Jetour’s new model goes far beyond that. The Jetour Zongheng is not just water-resistant; it is fully submersible and can operate in deep water, effectively functioning as a boat.
The Zongheng SUV is produced by Jetour, a brand owned by Chery, one of China’s leading automakers. The vehicle was launched on January 22, though details remain limited. Jetour has only shared a few low-resolution images.
Despite the lack of high-quality visuals, we do know some exciting features: the Zongheng will be equipped with LiDAR sensors, indicating that the vehicle is likely autonomous. As an added bonus, the SUV will also be bulletproof and blast proof, enhancing its durability and safety.
This move highlights the rapid progress being made by Chinese automakers. Companies like BYD have already introduced groundbreaking models, such as an off-roader that can fully submerge in water and a windshield-less supercar.
As per as Design , the Shanhai T2 possess the rugged boxy appearance of the Traveler adapted with rear privacy glass, panoramic sunroof, & externally mounted spare tire. It also has towing capabilities, with a maximum trailer weight is 750 kg without brakes & 1,600 kg with brakes. This car adopts a hidden A, B, C, D pillar design, that a floating roof effect.
The rear bumper is also solidly & handsomely wellbuilt. The luxury SUV has an approach angle of 28 degrees, a departure angle of 29 degrees and a ground clearance of 200 mm.
There’s also the BYD U9, a vehicle capable of dancing and jumping. Initially thought to be a gimmick, the U9’s ability to jump over potholes could revolutionize how we think about road handling.
Chinese automakers are clearly making significant strides, pushing the boundaries of both design and engineering in ways that were previously unthinkable.
